I could be a Rockstar, but instead I work in Retail...

Yesterday during my lunch break I went to QT to get a little soda pick-me-up. I pulled up right in front of the doors, and got out of my car to see and hear 5 black men singing and beat boxing.  I smiled as I walked by, but they all stopped singing and one guy called out to me saying, "Hey! Do you want to be in our band??" I laughed and told them that I already had a day job, but I was flattered by their offer. They then protested, "Well that's okay, because our bands always practices at night! Besides, we need a cute white girl in our band!!" Hahaha. I told them that I'd have to check with my agent... Needless to say, they were all pretty bummed. After I came back out with my soda, they were all still sitting there, and as I walked to me car, they kept begging me to reconsider and to give them my number so they could contact me later... <sigh> it definitely made my day!

I spent the rest of the day imagining what it would be like if i was famous. I would always want to be really down to earth, and fun! I would hope to have a phone full of A-List friends and a closet full of amazing shoes.  I would want to go to all the movie premiers and have Michael Buble serenade me at my birthday parties. I would still get my drinks from Circle K and sit on my couch in my pj's watching Desperate Housewives and I would want to donate my time and money to some worthy causes. :)

my dream closet <3

And it's a good thing i love my job and I definitely wouldn't want to run away and become incredibly famous <sarcasm>

:) don't be afraid to harness your inner rockstar, sing in your hair brush and dance around in you underwear!

Out of Goodbyes

I hate saying goodbye to people. I'm bad at it. It becomes slightly less stressful if i know they are coming back, but still...

My sweet little sister introduced me to a fabulous boy from Venezuela! His name is Antonio, and he has been here with a host family since August. He finished High School at Mountain View {Go Toros!!!} and became extremely close with my sister. By that I mean that they started dating. :)

He is too sweet for words, very considerate, funny, talented, smart, sexy, buff, great dancer, people person, and well he's Foreign. ;) He is wonderful, and i couldn't have wished for a better person for Abby to date.

He had to go home to Venezuela on Saturday, so of course there was a party on Friday :) It was very fun but bittersweet. There was dancing, food, singing, BBQ, laughter, games... everything! It was lovely, and I couldn't have thought of a better way to say goodbye to Antonio! Here are some fun pictures of Antonio :)

gah. they are so precious

Here are some more of my favorites of Abby and Antonio:

Haha, i just love them so much! And i hope that Antonio can come back to Arizona soon!

As for the rest of my weekend.... Saturday I went to the sweet baptism of my cousin Mailani. There were 9 baptisms that day, and it was so sweet to see all these children dressed in white, singing songs about Jesus and being so happy to become clean and have such a fresh start. Mailani's little sister was also given her baby blessing that day. I was so glad to be a part of it! Later we had a luncheon and i got to hold with the baby... now i'm not baby hungry in the slightest, but it hard to find something that will make me as happy as holding a 2 month old baby girl. I hope that we will spend a lot more time with the wonderful Robinson family :)

It was a great weekend and I am excited to conquer this next week. I am working on improving my work out habits... basically working out at all would be considered an improvement... haha. I also want to blog more often, cook something new for dinner at least once (no more hot dogs, pasta, or quesadillas) and start reading The Help (i've heard it's a WONDERFUL book).

Hopefully i'm successful.

I hope you have a lovely week! work on doing something new this week. step outside your comfort zone. push yourself out of your normal limits. :)

summ summer stuff... :)

So i've been neglecting my blog for a while because i've been so consumed with reading other peoples blogs, and being fascinated by all they have to offer. I constantly find myself getting caught in the blog stalking web... I read a blog of someone i know, then i look and see whose blog they read, and go to it.. i read that strangers blog, and see who they read... go to their blog and read about their life. It's just a continuous cycle, that sucks me in EVERY time!!! Seriously, i always tell myself, "Self, you are only going to read Hope's blog today..." next thing i know I've spent two hours reading blogs from some sweet lady in Connecticut who is a Fitness instructor and loves Sushi.... I feel like i have some sort of blogging psychopath syndrome (that's a real problem, i swear)... I should probably see a doctor.

ehn-eee-ways....

This last week has been quite enjoyable! Memorial Day Weekend was a blast!! We were invited by my family to go to Lake Roosevelt! I personally couldn't think of a better place to be. I love everything about the lake. I love the smell of the water, i love the feel of gliding over the water, i love the suffocating feel of life jackets, i love the warmth of the sun that is equally balanced out by the coolness of the water. I love the smell of the sun screen. I love finding a place to dock the boat so we can eat lunch. I love conversations my family has on the boat. i love blasting ke$ha and dancing on the back of the boat ;) i love tubing, and knee boarding! i love everything about it!! So needless to say, the two days we spent at the lake we wonderful! It was almost too windy the first day we were there, which made it hard to do anything besides tube, but other than that it was great! oh! and i didn't even get sunburned!! Which is quite an accomplishment... just sayin'...

Here are some of my favorite pics:

It was a great trip. Not to mention, that if you are ever in Globe Arizona, you absolutely MUST go to Jerry's Diner... it's delicious, and has become tradition for my family! I have to constantly stop myself from taking the 2 hour drive to globe just to get a bite of their amazing Honey Fried Chicken, or a Juicy Caliguacafornia Burger with perfectly crispy fries! Honestly, i don't think there is anything on their menu that i wouldn't kill for.

please go. that is all....

After we came home, we spent some time with Alex's family at a lovely BBQ. It was fun to catch up with family, play with the babies, go swimming, eat WAY too much food, catch some rays and enjoy the beautiful summer weather! I couldn't have asked for a better 3 day weekend.

Some other fun things that happened this week: Photoshoot with The Lovely Lauren Bailey!! She is in the running to become Miss Arizona! And i was lucky enough to take some pictures for her!! Here are my favorites

Isn't she perfect??? :) :) :)
bee tea dubb... if you wanna check out more of my pics feel free to go here --> :D

That's about all the fun happening for this week, I'm glad it's summer. That's all.
